Customization, for one, is going to be a major feature in Hogwarts Legacy. Its pervasiveness is apparent in almost every aspect of the game shown so far. Character and clothing customization are apparent at a glance, but player housing is a key feature as well, and the legendary Room of Requirement will play a big role in this game.

It was assumed that features such as Hogwarts Legacy’s character creation system would be available in the game as soon as Avalanche Software revealed the fact that it would be a sprawling open-world role-playing title. What wasn’t quite as obvious, however, was the extent to which the developer would go to truly let players live out their Hogwarts fantasy. The Room of Requirement will, then, be a hub of sheer practicality, where players can fiddle with customizations however they want, but also catch up with crafting, creature management, and more.
Unlike most other established playable spaces such as, for example, the Gryffindor Dorm from Hogwarts Legacy, the Room of Requirement will be a malleable, customizable space. By spending resources, players can set up a great variety of different crafting stations and functionality. Though it’s worth pointing out that the Room has a mind of its own and may attempt to assist the player in some unexpected ways.
Dealing with Hogwarts Legacy’s centaurs, trolls, goblins, and other monsters won’t be easy and will require more than pure spell casting. By harvesting plans and using them to brew unique potions in the Room of Requirement, players will be able to prepare themselves for encounters more thoroughly. On the topic of encounters, players may also make good use of the Room’s Vivarium, a special customizable creature holding pen for friendly magical beasts.
As customizable and open as the Room of Requirement may be, it’s just one small aspect of the game’s apparent dedication to truly let players live out their Hogwarts dream. With Hogwarts Legacy release window confirmed for 2022, no concrete release date is available just yet. Avalanche Studios seems to be sure it’ll have the game out before the end of the year. More information should, therefore, be dropping in over the coming weeks and months.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently slated to come out in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles.
