One of the main alluring factors that Hogwarts Legacy will offer to players is the opportunity to choose which iconic Hogwarts house that they will join. While at this point just speculation, the different choices of house could provide their own entirely unique spins on the core gameplay and wider plot of the title. An interesting house in its own right, Ravenclaw could easily provide interesting caveats to the story and gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy.

The Fundamentals of Hogwarts Legacy

Being developed by Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy is slated to be an open-world action-adventure RPG ripe with interactions and secrets to uncover. The title will offer a window into the iconic school of Hogwarts within the 1890s, establishing the game as firmly set apart from the events of the books and films.

Just a fraction of this experience will allow players to create dynamic and deeply customized characters, uncover secrets that are embedded within the school, and the ability to choose a specific Hogwarts house. With this exploration leading to a tense battle against a sinister plot that threatens to enshroud the school, Hogwarts Legacy clearly has a lot to offer.

How Ravenclaw Could Change the Plot of Hogwarts Legacy

A house that played a comparatively weaker role within the story of Harry Potter is Ravenclaw, known for its colors of blue and silver within the films. The key values and characteristics of Ravenclaw members are primarily intelligence, learning, wisdom, and wit. Crucially, this gives further credence to how house choice within Hogwarts Legacy can have a direct impact on the game’s plot and gameplay, in a way befitting of the wider lore of the IP.

With the increased intellect of those sorted within Ravenclaw, a playthrough regarding this house could see the player character tackle certain situations in a much more calculated way than a character like a headstrong Gryffindor, perhaps protecting the lives of those around them and efficiently mitigating the damage dealt by the villains of Hogwarts Legacy in the process.

How Ravenclaw Could Change the Gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy

As well as providing unique twists to the story of Hogwarts Legacy, a Ravenclaw playthrough should also see holistic changes made to the core gameplay of the title as well. Perhaps the most obvious caveat to gameplay that Ravenclaw allegiance should bring would concern the classes of Hogwarts Legacy.

Considering the implication that Ravenclaw students are inherently gifted with increased intelligence and learning abilities, classes within the game should provide much more lucrative rewards in the way of experience and skill points for Ravenclaw students. Moreover, it could be interesting to see some higher-end skills restricted only to Ravenclaw playthroughs of Hogwarts Legacy to incentivize choosing the house.

With Ravenclaw students also possessing increased wisdom and wit, the befriending process concerning the companions of Hogwarts Legacy could also be positively impacted by Ravenclaw membership. The increased wit could make Ravenclaw students more approachable by companion NPCs, with the greater wisdom allowing for bonding via problem-solving and advice-giving. Adding these intricacies to the different houses of Legacy will not only greatly increase the variation of gameplay, but will also importantly add some weight to the house that the player chooses to join.

Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to release holiday 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
