The number of save slots could also tie in with the Hogwarts houses, and it could encourage players to replay the game as a student from the different school houses. This would be a good move, as the houses are one of the most memorable aspects of the franchise. Even without replays, leaks suggest that Hogwarts Legacy will be quite a long game.

There Is One Save Slot For Each Hogwarts House
Hogwarts Legacy has faced many obstacles on its path to its launch, but the finish line finally looks like it is near. As gamers gear up to explore Hogwarts castle, some have begun to ask more practical questions, such as whether there will be multiple save slots and whether cross-platform saving would be possible. The WB Games official Twitter page confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy will have four character save slots. Each character save slot will then have five auto-save slots and ten manual save slots.
Having multiple save slots is always useful, especially if more than one person will be playing the same copy of a video game. In the case of Hogwarts Legacy, there may be a secondary reason for the four character save slots. It just so happens that there’s one save slot for each Hogwarts house. This suggests that the game is intended to be replayed from the perspective of the different houses and that gamers in different houses may have different experiences. This aligns with information from a recent leak which revealed that the different houses will have different progressions on main quests, although they will all arrive at the same ending. The leak also claims that one of the houses will briefly visit Azkaban.
The Houses of Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy
As Avalanche Software has confirmed, players will be able to pick which house they belong to. Gamers have already gotten a sneak peek at the common rooms, and they are accurate enough to please the most die-hard Harry Potter fans. For instance, the Hufflepuff common room is located near kitchens, as is canon, and it is decorated like a pleasant badger burrow. It is also filled with plants because Hufflepuff students are known to be good herbologists. Each common room has its own soundtrack to give it a unique atmosphere, and the students also wear robes lined with their house colors.
Avalanche Software has also revealed that players will be able to have companions, though it is not clear yet whether players will be able to befriend students from other houses. The three companions introduced so far are Sebastian Sallow the Slytherin, Natasi Onai the Gryffindor, and Poppy Sweeting the Hufflepuff. The Ravenclaw companion has yet to be revealed, though one presumably exists, as there would be no reason to neglect the house of intellects. Companions will help players during certain main quests, and they will also teach players new spells and abilities.
Although Hogwarts Legacy finally has a release date, things haven’t panned out quite the way fans expected. Only the PC and next-gen console versions will launch in February while the previous console and Switch versions will launch months later. This has been done to ensure gamers have the best experience regardless of what platform they’re on, though some gamers are presumably upset, as it will extremely difficult to avoid spoilers.
Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching April 4, and a Switch version releasing July 25.
