Quidditch will be not playable in Hogwarts Legacy, but that doesn’t mean brooms won’t be featured in the game. It’s long been established that Hogwarts Legacy will let players fly on brooms for transportation purposes. In the Harry Potter books and movies, there are a variety of different broom models and types for the characters to choose from, but it seems those playing Hogwarts Legacy will not have the same luxury. It’s been confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy players will not be able to buy different broomsticks in the game, though it’s not all bad news.

It sounds like Hogwarts Legacy players will be stuck with the same broom model throughout their time with the game, but the broom itself can be customized. According to a new Wizarding World TikTok video, Hogwarts Legacy players can visit a shop in Hogsmeade that sells cosmetic alterations they can use to give their brooms a unique look. Furthermore, players will be able to assist the shopkeeper by completing missions that in turn allow them to upgrade their broom and improve its versatility. Since brooms seem to be the main method of transportation in Hogwarts Legacy, it will definitely be important for players to do this as much as they can.
While Hogwarts Legacy will let players fly around the school grounds on broomsticks, there will be other modes of transportation in the open world Harry Potter game as well. Hogwarts Legacy also lets players ride on the backs of some magical beasts, including hippogriffs and thestrals. It’s unclear what kind of restrictions may be placed on magical beast mounts in Hogwarts Legacy when compared to using one’s broom, but players should have a much better idea of how it all works when they’re finally exploring open world Hogwarts for themselves.
Luckily, the wait to play Hogwarts Legacy is nearly over. Those that pre-order the Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe Edition or Collector’s Edition will have the chance to play the game on February 7, three full days before the official release date. Of course, this only applies to gamers on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, as the other versions of Hogwarts Legacy have had their release dates pushed back, unfortunately.
Hogwarts Legacy launches on February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, April 4 for PS4 and Xbox One, and July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
