Hogwarts Legacy’s second gameplay showcase shared a brief look at what customization will look like in the Room of Requirement, which has a surprising amount of personalization offered to players. This customization includes different looks for how the room itself may be decorated or lit with a wide assortment of magical manipulations available for players to choose from. It is unknown exactly how extensive this customization may be, but if nostalgic memorabilia from the Harry Potter franchise appears, there are a handful of items that would make great cosmetic additions.

Remembralls
Remembralls are a more niche item in Harry Potter and certainly not as significant, but they would still function as a great mechanic in Hogwarts Legacy. It would be fantastic to see Remembralls function in a way that reminded players of goals or objectives for a particular day, but alas there has been no mention of whether the item will appear.
Instead, Remembralls could simply be an item that fans can place on nightstands or countertops as a unique reference to the item, and perhaps with it glowing red at random intervals in an attempt to jog the player’s memory and provide that immersion from a purely ornamental standpoint.
Chocolate Frogs
Chocolate frogs have special iconography in Harry Potter and also represent the franchise’s lighthearted beginnings. Chocolate frogs are particularly nostalgic from early Harry Potter games where they could function as instantaneous healing pickups in the environment that croak wetly when consumed. If animated to hop and croak similarly, Hogwarts Legacy could implement chocolate frogs in an engaging and decorative way.
Famous Witches and Wizards Cards and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans
Likewise, Famous Witches and Wizards Cards and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans are a staple collectible in retro Harry Potter games. Seeing different canonical characters featured on each card could become a fun collectible-hunting challenge in Hogwarts Legacy, even if they only appear as collectibles players can decorate their spaces with. Otherwise, cards could contribute to Hogwarts Legacy’s elaborate wizard’s field guide.
Beans are truly iconic in the franchise as well, and it seems as though these candies have already been featured in Hogwarts Legacy’s first gameplay showcase within the dormitory tour. This gives fans hope that other iconic memorabilia will be added as cosmetic options.
Seasonal Hogwarts Merchandise
Quidditch memorabilia such as Quaffles, Bludgers, or a Golden Snitch would make for great mantelpiece decorations despite the fact that players will not be able to play on the pitch themselves. Moreover, because Hogwarts Legacy will feature a seasonal narrative structure that reflects the time of year, it would be a shame if the game did not offer seasonal decorations with the player’s Hogwarts house insignia.
Stands for the player’s broomstick could allow players to display them, and other school-appropriate apparel or merchandise could also be well-represented in these spaces. The possibilities for cosmetic customization in the Room of Requirement are seemingly infinite, and it will be exciting to see what nostalgic memorabilia from the franchise are available as decorations.
Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and the Switch version launching on July 25.
