The climax of Hitman 3 sees Agent 47 finally confront the Constant, and they are given two choices. They can either kill him, fulfilling their contract in the traditional manner, or inject him with a serum that will completely erase his memory. Fans have argued over which of these two options is worse for the Constant, but that decision doesn’t matter in the case of the secret ending.
Instead of doing either, players should pick up the serum and wait for about a minute. Despite initially rejecting the Constant’s offer that he could take the serum and forget everything, Agent 47 seems to be having second thoughts. Eventually, the Constant will speak up, encouraging him to take it once again. Players can then opt to inject themselves with the serum rather than the Constant, causing Agent 47 to pass out and eventually lose all memories. What happens next will please long time fans of the series.
When he awakes, Agent 47 finds himself strapped down to a bed in what appears to be a white, padded cell. He jolts up at the sound of a voice, ringing out “Wake up my friend. It’s the dawn of a new day and you have things to do.” It didn’t take long for the community to realize that this is a direct recreation of the intro to the original Hitman game released back in 2000, suggesting that this secret ending links directly back to that title.
Of course, this doesn’t seem to be the canon ending, so players shouldn’t expect it to be mentioned in Hitman 4 whenever that releases, but rather serves as a nice easter egg to please Hitman veterans. There’s also a feat associated with getting the secret end, so players may want to pursue it for that purpose. The most unfortunate thing about this ending is that the Constant didn’t get his comeuppance in this ending.
Hitman 3 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
